Certification is a compulsory independent assessment procedure for the quality and safety of care in public and private hospitals. It is conducted every 4 years by professionals (peers) appointed by the HAS (surveyors).

Commission pour la participation et l'engagement des personnes (CPEP)
Valoriser la participation et l’engagement des usagers et des personnes concernées dans les travaux de la Haute Autorité de santé (HAS), telle est la mission de la commission pour la participation et l’engagement des personnes (CPEP) de la HAS. Elle succède au conseil pour l’engagement des usagers. Désignés pour trois ans, ses membres ont été choisis en raison de leurs savoirs expérientiels d’usagers des systèmes de soins, sociaux ou médico-sociaux ou en raison de leur expertise professionnelle ou académique dans le domaine de l’engagement en santé ou de la participation citoyenne.

Patient safety culture is a set of behaviours and attitudes that contribute to patient safety and that are shared collectively throughout the organisation (teams, healthcare facilities).

Technical Committee for Vaccinations
In accordance with HAS’ activity in supporting public authorities in vaccination policy-making, the committee is tasked with preparing the HAS’ Board deliberations, particularly with regards to: - Vaccine recommendations, including urgent Ministry of Health requests; - French Vaccination schedule set by the Ministry of Health; - Minimal disclosures required in publicity campaigns for vaccines.
