An independent public scientific advisory body, the French National Authority for Health (HAS) is tasked with advancing quality in health and social care. HAS works alongside public authorities to inform policy decisions and with health care professionals to optimize practices, organizations and services; and equally ensures a patient-focused approach aimed at reinforcing decision-making capacity for the public.
Mission
Assess and appraise
pharmaceuticals, medical devices and procedures for inclusion on the national list of reimbursed products and services.
Recommend
best practices for health care and allied health professionals and elaborate public health guidelines
Measure and improve
the quality of care delivered in health and social care organizations, as well as officebased settings.
Established : Enacted into law August 13th, 2004 in relation to the National Health Fund
